With the increasing use of LCD’s, Plasma screens and High Definition sources within multi-room installations, Living Control was aware of the need for a reference quality video distribution controller to match its Afinity RoomBox 6 multi-room system.

The Afinity CVX-S is a six source - six zone Composite and HD compatible Component Video matrix switcher, capable of providing exceptional picture quality in every room.

All inputs are fully buffered ensuring the cleanest of images, whilst all outputs are buffered and amplified, providing exceptional picture quality even through very long cable runs. When coaxial cables are not available each zone video output can also be fed via Cat 5 cable. Integral HD compatible Cat 5 video conversion allows both composite and component video to be transferred over a single Cat 5 cable. An in-room wall plate is separately available to convert the Cat5 cable back into standard RCA composite and component video outputs.

The inclusion of Scart RGB-S to Component Video conversion, for up to two sources, allows Sky, Sky + and FreeView to be readily integrated. Each converter provides both composite and component video feeds through the CVX-S ensuring the highest possible picture quality irrespective of which LCD or Plasma screen monitor is used.

With its multi-input array, the Afinity CVX-HD is capable of distributing three video formats: composite video, component video and S-Video. Where differing video signals are required, for the same source, the Afinity CVX-HD can simultaneously switch both composite video and either S-Video or component video. Such an arrangement would permit a DVD player to be simultaneously fed to both a Plasma Screen and conventional television.

Designed for direct connection to a RoomBox 6 or RoomBox 6 VX controller, operation of the CVX-S could not be simpler. Source selection of the RoomBox 6 automatically selects the corresponding CVX-S input. All inputs can be mapped to any source providing total freedom in system design and layout.

Whether DVD, FreeView, Sky, Sky + or Sky HD the Afinity CVX-S will ensure the highest picture quality is available throughout your home.

The Zone Splitter provides an economical means of expanding a Living Control system to additional rooms.

The RoomBox 4 and RoomBox 6 are capable of providing independent source selection and volume levels to four and six areas (zones) respectively.

Conventional, unbalanced, variable line-level outputs are not designed to transfer signals over long distances.
